1. Who we are
HedgeSignal is a trading name of Team Dimensions Ltd. Team Dimensions Ltd is the controller of the personal data this policy describes, which means we decide how it’s used. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Team Dimensions Ltd.
- Registered in England and Wales, company number 08348964
- Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX
- Email: [email protected]
- Registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), number ZC238097
2. Details you give us
When you ask for sample leads, our form asks for your name, your firm, your work email address and the region you cover. You can also give us your phone number, and tell us you’d like a short call.
When you ask about a team trial or a data feed, our form asks what you’d like, your name, your firm and your work email address. You can also give us your phone number and a message.
If you send us your client list, so that we can leave those companies out of your leads, we ask for company names or company numbers only, not the names of people.
When you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything else you include.
3. How we use them
We use the details you give us to:
- prepare and send the sample leads you asked for;
- plan and quote for a trial, a subscription or a data feed you ask about;
- leave your clients out of the leads we send you;
- answer your questions, talk to you about your sample and HedgeSignal, and arrange a call if you asked for one; and
- keep a record of what we’ve sent you and what we’ve agreed.
The law allows this because it’s in our legitimate interests, and yours, for us to answer your request and follow it up. If you go ahead with a trial or a subscription, we also use your details to provide it, as part of our agreement with you. You can object at any time (section 10).
We won’t add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to, and we never sell your details or give them to anyone else for their own marketing.
4. When you visit the site
Hosting and security
Cloudflare hosts this site. To show you its pages and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address and the details your browser sends, such as its type and version.
Page statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see how quickly our pages load. It doesn’t use cookies or store anything on your device, and Cloudflare says it doesn’t collect or use visitors’ personal data.
Checking you’re a person
When you start filling in one of our forms, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you’re a person rather than an automated program. To do this, Cloudflare looks at signals from your browser and connection, such as your IP address and browser details. Cloudflare uses them to run the check for us, and also, as a controller in its own right, to improve Turnstile. Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum explains more.
Apart from these Cloudflare services, our pages load nothing from other websites. Our fonts and images come from our own site.
5. Cookies
We don’t use cookies for statistics or advertising, and we don’t use any advertising or tracking tools. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary to keep the site secure, such as cookies that help it spot bots; Cloudflare’s cookie policy lists them. These don’t need your consent, because they’re needed to keep the site secure.
6. People named in our leads
HedgeSignal tells businesses that provide foreign exchange and international payment services, such as FX brokers and payment firms, about companies that may need help with foreign currency: for example, companies whose accounts show they’re exposed to exchange rates, or that have just started importing or exporting. Each lead says why the company may need help and who runs its finances, so that the FX business can contact the company.
Where the information comes from
We build leads from public records and companies’ own published information, including:
- Companies House: companies, their officers and their filings, including accounts and registered charges;
- HMRC’s importer and exporter records, published on UK Trade Info;
- the global register of Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs), published by GLEIF; and
- companies’ own websites, for their business contact details.
Who appears in a lead
Mainly the people who run a company’s finances in a professional role, such as its finance director, chief financial officer, owner or other directors, with the company’s business contact details. A lead can also mention a company’s shareholders where that explains who decides.
HedgeSignal is only for contacting businesses. We don’t include sole traders or other people trading under their own name, and we never include anyone’s home address or personal phone number.
Why the law allows it
We rely on legitimate interests: ours, and those of the FX businesses we work with, in finding companies that may need currency services and contacting them in their business capacity. The information is already public or published by the company itself, we use only what a lead needs, and we stop whenever someone objects.
Who receives it
FX and payment businesses that use HedgeSignal or ask us for sample leads. Our terms require them to keep sample leads confidential, to contact only the businesses a lead names, and to follow the law and their regulator’s rules when they make contact.
If you’re named in a lead, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to our using it (section 10). If you object, we’ll stop including you in leads, and keep a short record of your request so that we don’t include you again.
7. Who we share data with
We use these service providers, who act on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting and security, page statistics and the Turnstile check;
- Postmark, which delivers the emails our site and service send, such as your request for sample leads and our daily lead emails; and
- the providers of our email and office software.
We may also share information with our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, and with authorities where the law requires it. We don’t sell personal data.
8. Transfers outside the UK
Cloudflare and Postmark are based in the United States and may process personal data outside the UK. When they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement. Email us if you’d like details.
9. How long we keep data
- Requests for sample leads, enquiries, and our emails with you: up to two years after we were last in touch, unless you become a customer.
- Client lists you send us: until you stop using HedgeSignal, or sooner if you ask.
- Information in leads: only while it’s relevant. We update or remove it when the public record changes.
- Requests not to be included in leads: for as long as we provide HedgeSignal, so that we don’t include you again.
- Cloudflare and Postmark keep their own technical records, such as security and email delivery logs, for limited periods.
10. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it’s wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete it, or to limit how we use it;
- object to our using it, including for marketing, which we’ll always stop; and
- in some cases, ask for your data in a form you can take elsewhere.
To use any of these rights, email us with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We’ll reply within one month, and there’s normally no charge.
11. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your data, please tell us first, so that we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
